Welcome to Redeemer!
Planning on joining us for worship this Sunday?
We look forward to having you!
If you desire to commune, please speak with Pastor before the service.
I’m a member of the LCMS. Can I Receive Communion?
If you desire to receive Holy Communion, please speak to Pastor before the service. Those who are members in good standing within our synod are welcome to commune at the Lord’s Altar.
What if I’m not a member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod?
Please join us in hearing God’s Word and singing His praises! We follow the biblical practice of closed communion (1 Corinthians 11). This is not because we claim to be better Christians, but rather because to be in true communion with one another, we ought to share the same confession. Pastor would be happy to speak with you about learning more and the possibility of communing in the future.
What does Redeemer teach about the Bible?
We believe that Jesus died and rose to save us from our sins. All of Scripture IS God’s Word. The good news of Christ’s salvation is for you! Please call or email Pastor; he is always glad to share the Word of God. In the meantime, check out Our Confession page.
What Can I Expect of the Service?
In our service, we use what is often called the “historic liturgy” out of our Lutheran hymnal. Find out more on our Worship page!
How Can I become a Member at Redeemer?
There are three avenues to becoming a member at Redeemer.
First, adult instruction involves studying the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and learning about why Lutherans believe what we do about key teachings like: Jesus’ work of death and resurrection, the real presence of Christ in Holy Communion, and the saving gift of baptism.
Second, youth catechesis is for children and young adults who desire to receive the Lord’s Supper. Typically meeting on Wednesdays, they follow a several-year curriculum which culminates in an examination by Pastor and the elders of the congregation.
Third, transfer from a sister congregation is for those who are already members of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod and desire to join the local congregation of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lisbon.
